Shape: Fusiform and  long body.

Minimum size: 10 cm

Fat content: 4%-10%

Fishing areas: It is found in many areas in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, as well as in the sandy depths.

Color: The dorsal area is yellow and silver and its belly and sides are silver.

Length and weight: The normal size is 15 cm-20cm, although the males can reach 35cm total length.
