Shape: It has a slender, long body with 6 or 12 dark crosswise bands on both sides of the dorsal area. Its meat is ranked among the most flavorful.

Fat content: 20%-40%

Fishing areas: In warm waters of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea.

Length and weight: 30cm to 50cm and weighs around 1kg to 8kg.
